Please note that until recently, some areas were serviced by a third party distributor. We now distribute nationwide from our Melbourne warehouse, which has led to significant improvements in price and availability in some areas. Mitas began life in the early 1930's as a subsidiary of Michelin, and firmly established itself as a major manufacturer of quality tyres in its own right soon after the second world war. It continues to produce many of the world's best tyres in it's three enormous Czech plants, and today the Mitas product range is unparallelled, with tyres for a wide variety of applications, from go-karts and scooters to aeroplanes to massive earth-moving and mining machinery. Many of the world's biggest industrial and agricultural equipment manufacturers specify Mitas tyres as original equipment for their machines. Mitas is also the largest motorcycle tyre manufacturer in Europe, especially famous for its superb off-road tyres for Motocross, Enduro, Safari, Junior Cross, Speedway and Trials motorcycle applications. Using cutting-edge design, formulation and production processes, it produces millions of tyres every year, under the Mitas name as well as under contract for other major tyre brands such as Michelin and Continental. Mitas motorcycle tyres are used around the world in competitive and recreational applications and sit squarely at the premium end of the off-road sports and adventure-rider markets.

Trelleborg is one of Europe's oldest and most famous off-road motorcycle tyre brands, and it is the manufacturer of choice for a number of gruelling competitions particularly in the highly competitive Scandinavian scene. The range fills a specific niche here in Australia with a small hard-core of loyal fans, and MotorcycleTyres Pty Ltd is pleased to be able to make it available to these riders once again after a short period without a local distributor. Since 2000, Trelleborg motorcycle tyres have been made under license by Mitas. As of early 2010, this licensing arrangement will cease and the tyres will become part of the wider Mitas range, and rebranded Mitas 'Sport Xtreme'. Tread names such as 'Ten Master' and 'Super Master' will no longer be used, but the familiar tread pattern numbers will be maintained with the addition of a preceding X - so, for example, the old Trelleborg Super Master T-946 will become a Mitas Sport Xtreme XT-946. There will be some mixing of brands as stocks are turned over but rest assured, the tyre itself remains the very best off-road sports tyre available.
